IPv4 vs. IPv6 Default For Windows 8.1?

Hello,

I wanted to ask a simple question, Windows 8.1 prefers by default which of those protocols, IPv4 or IPv6?

I got a new PC, Win 8.1 and was getting tons of ERR_NAME_NOT RESOLVED or DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN.

First, I thought, it was die to a not very nice WiFi USB antenna, but after buying a much better one, problem still persisted. I disabled IPv6 protocol in my WiFi adapter settings and it's now much better, pages are loading without all those white blank error spaces, etc.

I did some more research and found out, my ISP uses IPv4 to tunel IPv6 packets through some tunnel or whatever it was called.

Weird thing is, my Windows 7 notebook, where both IPv4 and IPv6 are enabled has no such problems as my Windows 8.1 desktop, so I'm really curious as to why this problem was happening.

Or perhaps, it was due to WiFi adapter drivers failing to provide some sort of necessary translation for the packets?
Cheers,
