For some weird reason, whenever I join my homegroup at home, it keeps sharing my desktop, downloads, music, pictures, documents folder without me even allowing it. I have to say this homegroup system is crap. I even selected "stop sharing" and it's still sharing. What a great module...

Isn't that what Homegroup is - sharing?

Correct but I use it to access a Server computer. I want to choose what files of mine are shown on the homegroup. Besides it shouldn't show a folder if I select stop sharing.

You are sharing the Library's, which are basically shortcuts that can go to multiple folders under them.

If you do not want Homegroup, then "Leave" it.

Kind of. It is for allowing access into the Library's, which can contain multiple folders.

Problem is I cant connect to the server computer unless I'm in the homegroup.... so I must be connected. I just dont want to show the folders/libraries on my personal computer. It does give the option to not share, it's just not working which is the issue. I selected "do not share" when I connect to the network, yet it still shows.

You should be able to connect to the folder still as a regular network share, regardless of Homegroup.

The only thing that could stop you, would be third party Internet Security Software. Along with if you have the network connection set as Public not Private.
