Hi All,
The title says it all. I want to have a shared folder on all my computers. Presently win 7 and win 8 share a folder being members of the same home-group and I would like to share it also with a Linux Mint computer. I want to know if it's possible to add the Linux Machine to my home-group or how I can share a folder on my home network.

Thank you for the replies. I unknowingly thought I could use "MS Homegroup" because it was so easy to use with my Win7 and Win8 computers. I'll try to learn how to set up a "Workgroup" and see what happens.
It should already be in "WORKGROUP". You just need to share those particular folders on the Windows machines you want the Linux machine to access.
Itis just right click andchoose Share.
When you go click to show foldersin Mint. Ubuntu has had some kind of bug for Samba that they will not get rid of. It will show all machines on the network first and the Workgroup. Do not click on the computers first. Click on the workgroup icon.
I do a similar thing (sharing WorkGroup with Mint machine) and have found that disabling the two HomeGroup Services prevents problems with networking that I got before they were disabled.
