Hey
So I'm kinda freaking out about this because this is my dad's really expensive touchscreen laptop that's broken. Earlier I was using it; I had four tabs open on chrome (one playing music) and had just started downloading a reliable copy of a movie. There is no way that the download could have had bugs, I checked thorough like fifty of the comments and all praised it on being a clean, high definition copy. I was about to download something else (again with shining reviews) and the computer just started freaking out.

At this point I had chrome open (four tabs still), utorrent, and another window on the file i was downloading (so again utorrent).

To begin with the computer froze, still playing the music, so I pressed start and nothing happened, when it unfroze it went into the blank start screen. I pressed start again and eventually the background appeared.long story short it kept doing that with the music still playing so I turned it off.

When I turned it on again it spent a few minutes downloading updates. After that was done i opened chrome only to find that there was no Internet connection. Usually it connects right off the bat. I opened networks and this is what I see:

Okay so the off button was, and is grey, it does not react to me clicking on it, nor does it do anything.

Please help me and please do it now. My father with kill me if I've broken this.

No need to post Twice, I would check device manager I'm betting that our WiFi driver is corrupted you can uninstall it from Device manager then refresh and see if the new driver doesn't work better for you. If that doesn't work you'll need to go to manufactures support web site and download the latest driver for your notebook and install that.

Thank you. I didn't mean to post twice it was my phones fault. Could you dumb that all down for me please? I'm not sure what exactly my wifi driver is nor how I'd be able to download the latest from the site with the wifi not working (I apologise if i seem rude that's not at all my intention)

Sorry I just want to make sure you can see that I've replied. I'm not sure what the deal is with forums.
