Way for Windows to show Meter for Internet Speed?
Anybody know a program that shows up your current internet speed all the time on the screen so I can monitor the speed?
so I don't have to do this all the time.. picture below..
( i'd prefer free but willing to look at shareware etc.. as all i want is to watch my speed and no other whistles and bells ; )

What you are looking at is LAN speed. As for speed from your modem/gateway through the wide open world of the Internet, it will vary, so what you may see, is not actual true speed. Works the same as when you travel on an Interstate. Bitmeter is one of the oldest programs out there for seeing speed.

That is not going to be accurate, since anything you do within a browser can be variable streaming if music or videos. Also depends on the compression rate the site is using.
Bit Meter is like what the Sam Knows white boxes do for tracking ISP speeds.

I think the guy just wants to see his computers network traffic over his adapter in real time without opening his task manager.
I use
rainmeter with a minimalist line graph.

That is fine. As long as it is light weight and does not cause any issues. The good thing about Bit Meter is that if you have a data limit in place. Bit Meter can be set up with the start and end dates.

well I'll try both programs but yes kinda am just looking for a little window/tile/taskbar icon to just show me the speed that my adapter is currently doing.. without opening the taskmanager which I have UAC on full so it always asks me if i really want to open it etc..
anyway i gotta try both of these programs..
