Realtek Ethernet port malfunctioning Dell Inspiron N5010

I am currently using windows 8.1 on my Dell Inspiron N5010. While the wireless module is working perfectly, the Ethernet port gets frequently disconnected due to unknown reasons. To make it function again, I need to reinstall its drivers every time. Can anyone figure out the cause behind this and solutions if any?

Bad cable, bad Ethernet port, bad router or switch. You can go to Realtek and download the latest driver from them.
