Solved Using RJ11 cable for LAN?

Hi all, I want to know if this is possible. I have a home wired LAN and want to extend its reach to a far away room. This room happens to be already wired from the time I had ADSL. The cable is a a telephone cable with Rj11 male connectors at both ends that used to transmit the ADSL signal but now I'm not using it as I have cablemodem, and it goes from the place I have my current cablemodem to the room where I want to extend the LAN, so it'd be very convenient. My question is, can I use this cable so to avoid having to install a CAT6 ethernet cable? If so, I would need 2 male RJ11 to female RJ45 adapters/converters, does this exist? thanks

RJ11 is a regular telephone line and has only 4 wires while RJ45 has 8 Wires. I am afraid you'd have to rerun it with a CAT5/6 cable.

LAN cables (cat5/6) only use 4 wires out of the 8 but they are twisted in a manner that cuts down interference. That 2 pair phone wire is not twisted and won't work very well for data.

If you don't want to rerun the cable, you can try one of these from Netgear which use your current electrical wire:

NOTE: there's more expensise powerline which has transfer rate of 1GB

Yes, I've seen these, but I don't feel comfortable having data travel across the electrical grid, even though they use encryption. I will go with Cat6 cable, found these ones which seem nice.
