Static IP effecting other computers

So I'm having a problem I don't exactly know how to fix. I need to open some ports on my router for a game I play. I tried to do port forwarding but there are multiple devices on my network and whenever the router gets reboot my computer gets a different IP address and the port forwarding doesn't work anymore. Then I tried port triggering but it doesn't seem to work the same or maybe I'm just not doing it right I don't know. Then someone else told me to make the computer I'm using to play the game a static IP. Which I did and successfully setup the port forwarding and everything seemed to work perfect until...another computer on my network was experiencing problems. They were playing a Facebook multiplayer game when a message said they were loosing connection. I tried everything on their computer. Running scans, updating network card driver, windows updating, clear browser history cookies temporary internet files, ran disk cleanup etc etc. still having problems. I removed my static IP and reboot the router and bam his computer was fixed but now I can't do my port forwarding. Now what?

you may want to try and set your static IP above the range DCHP

By default the DHCP Server on a NetGear Router uses IP Address Range from 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.98
You should select a Static IP Address Setting above that DHCP Server Range. 192.168.1.99 or above

By default the DHCP Server on a Linksys Router uses IP Address Range from 192.168.1.100 to 192.168.1.149
You should select a Static IP Address Setting above that DHCP Server Range. 192.168.1.150 or above

By default the DHCP Server on a DLink Router uses IP Address range from 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.199
You should select a Static IP Address Setting above that DHCP Server Range. 192.168.1.200 or above

Note: It is recommended that you use a Device Value of 200 thru 254 when configuring a Static IP Address
Choosing these Value’s will put your Static IP Address out of most Routers Default DHCP Servers Range

Sorry I didn't mention my router model before it is a netgear wnr1000v3. I had my static ip set for 192.168.1.150

Now I am scared to try again because I don't want to mess up anyone's computer.

I would not think is was the static IP address - causing an issue with his..
In DHCP one is assigned automatically - in static mode the IP address is set as permanent

Port forwarding ?? Multi-player game and you on a game ??? Bandwidth or Router speed??

I wasn't currently on my game when his computer kept saying it was loosing connection. In fact no one was on the Internet. Something has to have been happening though because the second I undid the static ip his computer was fine.

My router info just incase there is a clue there.

You could try this - Enable your Router's Guest account and allow him to connect to it.. SSID = CaSNet_Guest
Then setup your static IP and port forwarding on your main account SSID = CaSNet

or visa versa

The issue is that your router has a range of ips today it will assign. You picked a static address in this range and thus an ip was duplicated.

So, if your router has DHCP set up and it assigns ips 192.168.1.10 through 192.168.1.60, then you want to use 192.168.1.2 through 192.168.1.9 or 192.168.1.61 through 192.168.1.254 for your static machines.

I believe 150 would be out of the default DHCP range - and like you would assume a non-issue..

For the suggestion of connecting as a guest... That is just temporary right? To see if he is still having the problem? Because I have multiple computers on the router.

I doubt it was a duplicate IP problem as I was at .150
I have 12 connected devices and netgear started out at .2

When doing the port forwarding what would be my preferred DNS? If you could use my screenshot above would it be 75.75.75.75 and secondary 75.75.76.76? Or would it be 192.168.1.1? Because I followed a guide on port forward website and maybe I messed up on that part?
