LAN doesn't work on Acer Aspire V5 573G

LAN doesn't work on Acer Aspire V5 573G EDIT! New problem

Hello.

I just bought Acer Aspire V5-573G laptop

I can access the internet with wifi, no problem, but I can't access with cable.
I upgraded to SSD today so it has been reinstalled and still doesnt work.
It seems to notice the cable but it shows a "!" and says Limited.
I'm running on Windows 8.1 64bit
I really want to try everything before sending it to repairs.

Any ideas?

check the LAN plug there are two small LED's both lit when LAN cable plugged in..

Also verify that the driver you installed from OEM is for windows 8.1 x64

another option is to go into device manager and remove the driver and see if MS Update has a driver for it

Have to ask.....tried different cable? Also try Safe Mode with networking and see if it works.

Also, go to the ACER site and get the latest driver for the NIC, and make sure to get the one for 64 bit or 32 bit depending on your OS.

New problem!!

The wifi this time.
On cable I get 92-94mbps in speed tests, and I have always got the same with wifi.
Now, I only get 20-40mbps.
There are 3 drivers from Acer that I can download, but no where it says who is the manufacturer of this card.
I must have the wrong driver?
Any ideas?

See if ACER has a utility to look at your ACER and to install the correct drivers.
