Dear all,

My ASUS laptop (i7-4700HQ; windows 8.1 installed couple of months ago) always shows the available Wifi connections, including those of the neighbours.

Today my grandson (1,5 years old) played on the PC and afterwards my laptop did not detect any Wifi connections. Other devices (laptops and smartphones) do show the Wifi signals perfectly). View attachment Printscreens and additional information.docxSee printscreens for additional information about the wireless adaptor, pop-up and laptop.

I already tried the following:
- Turn off laptop - turn off modem - turn on modem - turn on laptop (twice)
- Switch off and on the wireless button (fn+f2), turning the wireless signal off and on again (5 times)
- Close and reopen the laptop screen (10 times)
- Starting and following the troubleshooting - this did not give any suggestions or findings (5 times)

My feeling is that it is a simple solution, since it always worked fine and my grandson pushed a couple of buttons. I don't dare to Refresh Windows, as my apps will be uninstalled, right? Or will this be an effective solution possibly?

Thanks for any suggestions!!

Marieke

I asked my computer guy to look at the problem: It was Kapersky, an antivirus program that I payed for. It interferes with my windows 8.1. He removed Kapersky and everything is working fine now!
