HP Network Devices Support service disappeared??

Good morning,

For the record I am a brand new user of a HP Pavilion 23-g017c (x64) AMD A6-5200 APU w/Radeon HD Graphics All-in-One computer, running Windows 8.1 and using IE 11 with Zone Alarm Firewall and Antivirus & Spyware installed.

Yesterday while checking out my Event Viewer I noticed that every time I rubbish down and restarted my computer I received an error message saying: HP Network Devices Support Service terminated with the following error: Error 126: The specified module could not be found.

The best I can figure is it might have started while I was uninstalling a program associated with my camera which I couldn't install properly.

I went to Services and located HP Network Devices Support. It was in a Stopped state and was set to Automatically Start (Delayed). When I tried to restart it I got a message saying "Windows could not start the HP Network Devices Support service on local computer"

Since I am getting this error at every restart is it something I should be worried about? If so, is there a way to get it back up and working?

Thanks and regards,
2harts4ever

This error is usually associated with your printer installation. Uninstall your printer and reinstall it with the proper product installation software which you could get online.

Hi Nuccii,

Good to see you again.

I am in the process of getting a new All-In-One printer because I knew my HP Photosmart C5580 wasn't compatible with Win 8.1. In fact I went on-line a few days ago just to get a driver to allow me to print with it.

So, for now I will let the error go until I get my new all-in-one printer (HP 25644 (2541) Wireless and see what that does in regards to the error.

I appreciate your quick response.

Thanks and regards,

Hi Nuccii,

Yes ... I did try both of them but it still didn't restore it back to the days when I used Win XP or Win 7. It prints but it is a royal 'pain in the _ss' when I try to scan something into the computer. I don't scan much but when I do I hate to get ulcers over it if you know what I mean ....lol

I'll post back on this thread after uninstalling Photosmart and installing the new printer and update you on whether I am still getting the error message with the new printer.

Speaking of uninstalling my Photosmart do I just remove it from my 'Devices and Printers' page before installing the new one? I am asking because I notice it isn't listed under Programs and Features.

I really appreciate all your help and patience.

Thanks and regards,

Hi again Nuccii,

I was just looking for ways to uninstall my present Printer when the new one arrives and so far the only place I see it listed is in the Control Panel under Devices and Printers. I thought for sure it would be listed in Device Manager but it isn't.

Will removing it from the Devices and Printers page uninstall it from my computer?

Thanks and regards,

Hi Nuccii,

Will do!

I'll post back when the new one arrives and I get it installed as to what happens with the error message that I opened this thread with.

Have a great weekend!

Thanks and regards,
