Ok so i updated from win8 to 8.1 so i could actually run the new dragon age. After updating i got the stupid update loop which i fixed. Here's my new problem, after updating it said i had created a homegroup something which i never did and it keeps asking me for a password- which of course i don't have, it should also be mentioned that the original HG was created on this machine and was also shared with a win7 machine- which i believe is somehow still connected to a homegroup which doesn't exist. When trying to connect to homegroup entering the old pass says the homegroup doesnt exist anymore, however it also says on the homegroup page that i still created one- which as before mentioned doesnt exist on a connection try. when double clicking through normal networking file sharing a windows credential comes up asking me for the info to connect to the win7 pc- which has no pass on it. i also have no peer networking folder either so i have no idea whats going on any ideas?

i tired all that OBVIOUS stuff already, these are not solutions to any of the problems i asked for above. no one can leave the homegroup due to windows saying the homegroup doesnt exist while all on the homegroup screen it says it does. and i cant get get my homegroup password if i cant connect to the homegroup. this happened after an upgrade. i need the homegroup gone- as i told u above. basaically when wondows made the homegroup off the upgrade it both dleted it and kept it. so i cant access it and my other pc cant leave it.

You did not mention if you ran it or not, but there is a Home Group trouble shooter in the Home Group menu in Control Panel.
