Hello

I am having trouble connecting a windows 8 Surface pro to the domain in one of my schools.

The Server is running windows 2012 and there for should be fully compatible with this version of windows 8.1

When trying to connect to the domain with the exact same details I use when connecting a windows 7 laptop I and met with the following error:

DNS was successfully queried for the service location (SRV) resource record used to locate a domain controller for domain "SCHOOL.LOCAL":
The query was for the SRV record for _ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.SCHOOL.LOCAL
The following domain controllers were identified by the query:
dc1.school.local
However no domain controllers could be contacted.
Common causes of this error include:

- Host (A) or (AAAA) records that map the names of the domain controllers to their IP addresses are missing or contain incorrect addresses.
- Domain controllers registered in DNS are not connected to the network or are not running.

DNS is set up and working perfect with everything else on the network I just seem to be having these issues with This Windows 8 Surface.

Can anybody help me figure this out? This was an expensive purchase that I advised would work fully with their network :s

I can of course provide any further information you might require.

Chris
