I'm having a serious problem regarding internet access. I cannot access Microsoft and Adobe websites using Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, although Google Chrome seems unaffected and can access both websites normally.
Things I noticed:
※Microsoft and Adobe websites, when accessed from Internet Explorer, were always redirected to Bing search, although the search results shown correct websites (results were related to either Microsoft or Adobe, depending on which website I tried to access).
※Mozilla Firefox could not access/open both websites.
※Both Microsoft and Adobe websites could be accessed normally using proxy and/or VPN.
※Google Chrome could access/open both websites normally without any problem.
Some things worth mentioning:
※The access problem began since I installed the Windows 8.1 September Rollup, although back then only Microsoft website could not be accessed sometime.
※After the November Rollup (3000850), Windows had corruption related to a .PDB file, if I'm not mistaken. I tried to fix it using SFC, SFCFix and then DISM. The first former were able to detect the corruption but failed to repair/fix it. The latter, using /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth parameters, could fix the corruption. I haven't seen or discovered any corruption since then.
※Uninstalling the November Rollup didn't change anything. Both Microsoft and Adobe are still inaccessible, at least using Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.
※I've scanned the whole system using Defender and could not find any threat or suspicious file/program. I've also used RogueKiller, TDSSKiller, Malwarebytes Anti Malware and AdwCleaner. None of those shown infection or threat.
※Both Microsoft and Adobe websites can be accessed normally in Windows 7 installed in my gaming PC. I do not have any problem opening/accessing both websites using both Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox in Windows 7.
Is there anybody that can help me to identify the problem? I ran out of ideas and do not know how to repair this problem. Since I do not own external hard drive, it is impossible to reinstall Windows 8.1 without losing my works stored on my laptop. If possible, I want to repair the problem without reinstalling Windows 8.1, at least until I have external media to back up my works.
