I am running windows 8 and I have a Gateway desktop. I recently broke the internal timer on the motherboard and I had to replace it. I now have an ASUS motherboard in my PC. After replacing the motherboard I set up my PC like I always had. We then moved to a new house with different Internet service. I now have Comcast.
I am having networking issues. When I try to load a webpage it would say DNS Server not found even though I had full connectivity. I tried setting the DNS servers manually since it seemed my Comcast servers weren't working. I tried Google servers, OpenDNS servers, and Yahoo servers. None of them worked. So I tried the command prompt and flushed my DNS cache. I pinged the different DNS servers and I got a reply from each one. Then the connection started to fail. I would restart and reset my modem and that seemed to work for a little bit but even that stopped working. So I thought it might be an ISP issue but the tech came out and checked my connectivity and I was good. The connection would go in and out of connectivity. I recently brought my PC to my dads house to see if he could find the issue. For some reason when I open the Network and Sharing Center I see my normal RealTek adapter and then I would also see 5 other connections. Some would say TAP and others would say WAN. I recently just removed quite a few Trojan viruses from my PC as well.
I have no clue what could be wrong! I've done everything I can think of! My only other thought is bad adapter hardware. I've reinstalled the drivers and everything! My dad is currently working on it but any other ideas are a big help! I have online school starting in two weeks!
