TEMPORARILY share a folder between admin/nonadmin accounts

My laptop has only ever had one admin user account with full access to sensitive information, but I have now added a non-admin account which needs occasional access to restricted content.

I want to give temporary access only to a personal folder.

It seems that once the non admin user opens the specific restricted folder (and I input my admin password), this gives permanent access to this folder. To deny access again, I have to log back into my admin account and click 'Stop Sharing'.

Is there a way to time-out access, or have access automatically suspended via switch user/log off?

Instead of using Explorer you can get more control with
Net Use




Also in a command prompt run this for options list
net use /?

As this is out of my knowledge & comfort zone, I'll need to play around with it. It looks like it might be time consuming to check the power of net user. I'll check back with my findings.

Once you get the command line switches the way you want you can avoid typos by making .cmd files for connect and disconnect. I would look at making the connection non-persistent. To disconnect the share just use the delete switch.

Some example batch files and you'll be in business in no time. It's easier than it looks.
