Okay, so I installed Windows 8.1 awhile back and ever since I did, I've had connection issues. Whenever I go try and open and App on the Start screen it says that I am not connected to the internet when I can connect to anything on my desktop screen, such as internet browsers and the desktop version of Skype and such. Anyone know what I can do to fix this?

Hey mate. Assuming you are talking about your HP 2000-219DX Notebook, HP claims that they only support the OS that originally came with the computer, which for that one, is Windows 7. Read the following statement from this website:

What if I don't see my operating system from HP's software page?

If the operating system you are looking for is not listed on the software download site, HP does not have software or driver downloads available for your computer and operating system. HP provides software and driver updates for the operating system that originally came with your computer as it was designed and tested for the operating system purchased with the PC. Changing the operating system on your computer (upgrading or downgrading), puts the system into a configuration that might not work with the hardware design. If you you must change the operating system, get drivers from the manufacturer of the component you need. For example, if a computer has NVIDIA video hardware and was upgraded to a newer version of Windows, someone would go to NVIDIA's web site to download and install an updated driver.

Why is there no driver available for my PC's operating system?

HP provides software and driver updates that are compatible with the operating system that originally came with your HP or Compaq computer. In some case, HP may be able to provide software for other operating systems. To get drivers for other operating systems that HP does not supply, visit the component manufacturer's Web site. Another great place to find help with driver are the helpful people in HP's Consumer Support Forum .

In short, your computer does not support Windows 8.1, so naturally, you may very well encounter driver errors. This is what I am betting on is the problem. There are no Windows 8 or 8.1 drivers for your computer :(
