Hi I have a lenovo thinkpad edge E520 running on Windows 8. I have used this computer to connect to internet before but has all the sudden stopped working. I have tried connecting using a ethernet cable and also wifi but it continues to say limited access. I have tried updating the drivers and have also tried restoring the laptop to a later date but neither worked. I know my internet is working because I use the internet on my boyfriends laptop and also have playstation 3 and xbox 360 hooked up to my internet. PLEASE HELP me I need my laptop for my online classes
Welcome to the forum! If it won't connect with either a cable or through wifi that tells me it is either your computer or your router. What happens when you plug your computer directly into the modem with ethernet cable? Leave the router out of the mix and see what happens.

Thank you for your help. I am pretty sure it is my laptop. I know a little about computers but have no idea how to fix them so when you explain please use easy instructions. When I plug the ethernet cable up to my laptop it also says limited it works perfectly fine on my other laptop though
Click Start > All Programs > Accessories, right-click on Command Prompt and choose Run as administrator. Windows 8 users press [Windows Key] + [X] and select Command Prompt (Admin).
At the command prompt type: netsh winsock reset catalog and press [Enter].
