I've got an Asus VivoTab 810c with a Broadcom 802.11bgn Wireless SDIO adapter. I'm able to connect to my home wifi which is WPA-personal TKIP, however I can't get on my work wifi which is WPA2-Personal AES. I've tried loading older drivers, which crashed Windows 8.1. I also ran across a page that said my employer needed to update their router firmware:
Windows 8 may not be able to connect to some Cisco routers
Firstly, I'm not certain our router is Cisco, and secondly, if it is, my employer is unlikely to perform the update as we're a struggling inner city school system.
When connecting to my work network, initially the tablet says it's trying to connect, then it prompts me, asking me if I want to search for network resources. Whether I search for the resources or not, it comes back after this prompt and saying it can't connect.
My Windows 7 laptop, and my 26 Android tablets work perfectly. Only the Windows 8.1 machine won't connect.
I like the the functionality of Windows 8.1 and would like to be able to use this tablet in class. It is vastly superior to Android in every way except for connectivity. Does anyone know of a solution to this problem?
