Hello, I have a Asus Laptop operating with Windows 8.1. It connects to wifi but none of the desktop icons can get to the Internet. Meanwhile most window tiles in the start menu have Internet access . For example I have the application "MegaTube" and that application has access to the Internet. As well as the weather app, which updates when connected to the Internet. Please help.

Any third party Internet Security software installed? Is this a Public Wifi Hotspot, or your own personal Intetnet connection that you pay for. Are any other computers when connecting to that wifi a/p having problems going online?

UPDATE: Internet Explorer seems to have internet access, but some websites do not load. Apps such as Spotify doesn't have internet access, as while as most other applications on the desktop.

I have Avast & Malwarebytes Anti-Malware installed, and most recently I installed SpyBot to fix the issues but no success. The wifi connection is personal at home connection which I pay for. My laptop is the only thing with the issue. My PC is working fine as well as other objects such as; phones, tablets.

This same exact thing happens on my to Toshiba. Or it goes to a limited connection. The point temp fix for me is to open the WiFi side panel and leave it open to page loads then close it. Click a new link, open side panel, let it load, close it. So frustrating. Hopefully we can get an answer man.
