How difficult would it be to replace the internal wireless card with a 5ghz capable card. & where can i buy one?

i am also looking to buy a wireless extender. I have picked one out on ebay. Is this wireless extender compatible with 5ghz signal & how is the performance? Can you recommend others please.

Is your area really congested on the 2.4ghz band? If your area where you use your computer is not congested. There really will be no improvement going with the 5ghz adapter.

I think that the 5ghz signal will benefit me as there are a lot of wifi signals close by. Also I have read that 5ghz is best for streaming hd video

I swapped out my internal card on Acer laptop to dual-band. It was easy peezy, right next to RAM modules. Just have to be very careful with the antenna connectors.

And yes, I did see improvement in streaming TV going to the 5GHz. Newer laptops usually have the half-mini card as opposed to the mini so be sure you know what you have before going that route.
