I used to very rarely see my internet connection dropping, then a week ago it started dropping 3 or 4 times a day. This evening it stopped altogether.
When this occurred I could it working again by a combination of switching the router on and off rebooting the computer and running the troubleshooter for internet connection Eventually it came up with a message 'repair as administrator or similar and that worked. This option now no longer comes up.
Other computers connected to the router are fine.
I use homeplug adapters for the affected computer and have tried replacing them at both ends. Device manager says the network adapter is working fine. I have run the troubleshooter it says the pc doesn't have a valid ip address.
