Can't See A List Of Available Networks

Hello. I have an Asus computer running windows 8. When I open the network connections I cant see the list of available networks. I see my own connection to the internet which is named Network but that is all I see. when I check it on my laptop also running windows 8 I see a full list of available networks. Is there a setting in windows that will allow me to see this or is something blocking the list from being displayed. Your help would be appreciated.

Open up a Command Window and type or paste in without the quotes: "netsh wlan show all".

Please post the exact model number of your Asus laptop.

There could be specific updates from Asus to address this problem but there are no Windows settings for turning this on or off as it should be working if the wireless drivers are installed.

I'm sure you are referring to the following screen not showing the other wireless networks in the area?

Yes that is the screen i'm referring to. My computer is an Asus desktop the model number is cm6730. I have an HP laptop and all the networks show up just fine on it. I checked to see if the wireless adapter was installed and it is and it says the drivers are up to date. Im not sure where to go from there.

Post the info that I asked for. That is the only way to know the signal level you are getting from your Gateway.

Try installing the latest driver for the wireless directly from the Asus site via the link below.

From what I have read this particular machine may also require a bios update in order to fix stability problems with Windows 8.1.
