Hi,

We just bought a new machine having windows 8 preinstalled and we use it as a server running small web apps but sometimes it just went dead when nobody touch it for long and we suspect it's the issue related to sleeping mode if it is how do we fix it?

Thanks

In device manager on the network card properties it may have a setting to kill power to the card after inactivity time out. Uncheck that. Set power profile to High Performance. I would initially set all power down or sleep settings to Never. If that works well then you may be able to allow the monitor to sleep. Any other changes I would try one at a time.
