hi all, I'm currently having trouble connecting to wifi, on a regular basis.

I have to connect and disconnect multiple times until the connection actually sticks, then its usually fine, ive tried trouble shooting to no avail. can anyone offer any help? likewise when I click the box to connect automatically the next time I go to use my computer it doesnt connect and the box is no longer clicked

I am fairly inexperienced with computers so I might be missing something simple.
I havent updated to 8.1 yet as my connection usually drops, computer is a laptop lenovo G580, the connections are a home one that has worked for xbox, xbone, phones, other laptops, and desktops. the other main connection this is a problem with is my school connection.
thanks for all the potential help

The G580 is probably has more problems then just about any other machine I've dealt with. One after the other they come in here and complain, wireless complaints and problems with wireless seemingly unfixable on the G580. It's basically a Lenovo driver problem not a Windows 8 problem.

I'd run the update to Windows 8.1 then visit the Lenovo site for the latest drivers then cross your fingers. You might also try updating the firmware on your router.

If it is at your school. Most likely they have throttled the connection to keep students from hogging the bandwidth from other students. Also if it is wifi, they most likely do not have enough Wireless Access Points in the various buildings on Campus.

There really is not much you can do as a guest on someone else's network, in having them fix them. You and the other students along with staff, could probably press IT & the President of the University or College you attend, to put more money towards IT infrastructure for the students.
