How do you plan to connect the E5331 to the PC? There shouldn't be any problem using the MiFi wirelessly between it and the PC. The odds are good that it will also work fine connected via USB despite the fact that Windows 8.1 is missing from the system requirements but can't guarantee that.

What cellular carrier are you going to use? Have you checked on their website to see if that carrier has coverage where your daughter lives? I would be more concerned with that than whether or not it will work with Win 8.1.

Thanks strollin,it's 3 I hope to use.I have have used the 3dongle over there on my laptop and it was ok ,but that's on windows 7.Dont know how it connects but guess it's usb. It's £50 one off payment. Then £10 for 1 GB which can last up to 1 month. On the card I've got it says. "Let's you connect up to 5 tablets, smartphones or laptops to the internet wherever you are"It doesn't mention desktops.Tried looking it up but no joy. And no mention of windows 8.
