I have MSI laptop 17.3" Core i7-3630QM/16GB DDR3/NV GTX 675MX, 4GB, Windows 8.1 upgraded to from win 8. Wifi: Intel Centurino Wireless N2230

Not only on Windows 8.1 but on Windows 8 as well ever since I am on the new system, I get too many times 'This page cannot be displayed'. This happens like a page timeout where it takes it longer to load than allowed..

I have been on Ethernet 50 mbps and there seems to be no problem - I can load 10 tabs at a time and they will load. The problem happens when with wi fi modem and supposedly no one else uses the connection, with speedtest I get 17 mbps download, 8 ms ping, 10 upload or smth.

At first I thought it's specific sites doing it but heck it can happen anywhere, forums with just background images, this is where it mostly happens btw, not google images or places with just many images, even forums with simple UI interface, emails.

Is this a lan card issue? Hardly, Ethernet connection is good but maybe it is separate. the modem? If I try smartphone with the wifi which is usually disconnected to not eat the traffic and connectivity, it works fine but maybe Android works too differently. With the notebook I've been having this for 1 year and getting annoying, haven't changed the place yet but 17 mbps should be good enough

In few games, I may lag but this happens rarely in most cases such speed is fine and yet for forums and such it can't load a darn page until I refresh 2-3-5 times... (sometimes without the pictures). This forum loads fine but others and sometimes mail services do not.

It may help to install the latest driver for the Intel N2230 for Windows 8.1.

If you can post a screen shot of the ipconfig/all it might also be helpful. :)

Please take a look at these troubleshooting steps:
"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error

I think I've tried this in the past, doesn't change things.

Thanks for the link, I did use 2012 drivers and updated to Oct 2013 that the latest version was.. but it changed almost nothing. I think it is slightly better than before but I still get 'page cannot be displayed'.. often, just less often than before updating.

If you can go to this link Mini Tool Test for pchf and run all the test and post the results here

Sorry, I don't trust anything that has 'Cleaner' in its title when it comes to some 3rd party utilities, plus I would not post any personal info like IP and such if that's what these tools extract.

Nearly all in the world have the same ip info that starts with 192.168 its not accessible from the internet so there is no harm in publishing it.
The cleaner is a specialist tool to remove malware and give you the option to remove or keep it why you would want to keep malware I dont know.

The other scans for errors on the system which may tell us the problem.

We all volunteer here and I have over 30 years it experience but if you dont provide us with the info on the fault we can only guess what the problem is so this makes it impossible to help you.

.

If you check the link I posted then click on the Op system which is 8.1, 32 or 64 bit as required, you will then see the drivers for 8.1 which are dated very recent> 3-21-2014, version 16.11.1 so they are more recent than the one you are using. You must update these drivers to the 8.1 version.

After that I will need to see the exact model and version number of the modem or router that you are using. :)

LOL malware? I do not have that, I am 200% sure not only because I know where I enter but because I keep my anti-virus AVG IS up to date, I scan regularly, I delete files I do not trust - I don't even allow files like these downloaders .EXE files in various sites that act as a download manager to what you download, I do not use anything that would cause such behavior on the internet and I can bet money on that!

This has been going on with windows 8 in the past and with windows 8.1 which means after deleting partitions and formatting and such, and that on a new hard drive SSD that has NEVER been infected with anything... where malware? Just exclude that as possibility.

I will see for other things what info I can post when I have time.

Suggest you follow my advice from the previous post as I've been supporting Windows for a very long time and know what I'm talking about.

^ I will definitely update the latest drivers, I will uninstall this one straight away, drivers need do be latest in general. It's just that I am not convinced this will fix it, unfortunately I have no opportunity to test the wifi elsewhere at this time, to see if the router is causing problems. Another person with whom we share the wifi and is with Win7 doesn't have this problem. I suppose it cant be in Windows itself as well.

I can give an update in some days and see how it works and probably will try some of the other things suggested here, except malware which is not the case, thx.

NOT SOLVED BUT TOO OLD
