Hi, The small icon that sits in the system tray, bottom right, near clock, won't work, it should show 5 or 6 bars of signal strength, but does not......anyone know how to fix this......I am connected via a 3 ''dongle'' and everything is fine.......apart from this annoying little problem.................Del.

Hi Del80,

Welcome to the forum :)

Has your three dongle have software that is controlling your wifi? if so this could explain they your windows wireless Icon is not working because the Three software could supersede it.

Does it work fine when you are using your internal wireless card instead of the dongle? ( that is if you have an internal wireless card)

Also a screenshot or two would help.

Cheers,
Harry

It depends on if you are using the adapter's software to manage Wireless Networking, or Windows to manage Wireless Networking. I have my Intel adapter managing mine, but have both the Windows adapter Wireless Icon & Intel icon showing. Place your cursor in the Task icon area over the clock, and Right click. You should get Context Menu, and one of the choices will be "Customize Notification Icons".

You can also go to Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Notification Area Icons. What does it show for "Network" and the setting for the icon for your dongle?
