Problems enabling Linksys WUSB54gc v.3

Hi there,
I am having a problem trying to connect to the internet with my Linksys WUSB54GC V.3. For some reason windows 8 won’t let me enable the network device. It's been doing that ever since I upgraded from windows 7 to Windows 8.1. What can be the problem?

Old wireless adapters are very much recommended to the fullest not to be used on Windows 8. Count your blessings that it won't let you enable it.

Have you tried installing it in compatibility mode?

To Run in compatibility mode do the following:

Right click the installer>properties>compatibility>chose OS

How to Run Older Programs under Windows 8 - For Dummies

It's worked in the past with this same adaptor so it's worth a try.
