Limited Connectivity

Okay so I know many are having this problem before but I feel that the problem I'm experiencing is different. (And that none of the fixes I found in the internet worked.)

I can connect quite easily to a wi-fi. However, with no precise amount of time (it can go on from 1-30mins), the connection suddenly becomes limited. The only fix I'm doing to keep the connection is disabling it then reconnecting. While at Limited Connectivity, I cannot access the internet.

It can get irritating especially when you're playing an online game as you get disconnected any time. I'm using Windows 8 by the way.

Anyone know how to fix this? Thank you.

This issue is most often related to drivers or the router.

Have you checked from an updated wireless driver for your computer?

Have you tried to reset the router to defaults?

How do I do that? Sorry. I'm only good at following instructions. I haven't had this problem before with our old wi-fi router. We changed to a new one and this problem popped up.

After you are all done completing advice from EC, set the Beacon Interval in the router to be 50 ms.

Then use Vistumbler to see which wireless channel is furthest from those active, or least used. Set router radio to broadcast on that channel.

Could actually update firmware on router too. Routers are known to benefit from this often.

If not using Homegroup, disable IPv6 and the IP Helper service.

My laptop is a HP Probook 4445s and for the router, I'm not sure about the maker and all but here's what's written below it.

I do believe it's the router since I had no problem with our old router. How do I fiddle with the router?

The driver which was shipped with this notebook already supports Windows 8.1, the above driver is an incremental update and the revision history is not clear on whats actually being updated.

As for your FIBERHOME GPON ONU AN5505-04 (router), I'm not at all familiar with these products. Additionally, the English based support site does not offer any help as to it's configuration. My only suggestion would be to disconnect the power briefly then reconnect it.
