Hi guys,
I got this Windows 8 laptop some 2 months ago, everything was perfect until today.
I just cannot connect to my home wifi network.

Extra info:
- wifi light is on on laptop.
- can see other wifi network connections from neighborhood, but not my home one.
- when I manually type name of home network it says "network already installed", but still won't let it appear.
- iPhone and iPad don't have problems connecting to wifi network.
- iPhone, iPad and said PC all connected on same network for weeks in same room, never a conflict issue.

Couldn't sort it...please let me know if you have a trick.
Much appreciated.
Thank you.

First try powering your PC off and on. If that does not help, reboot your router and/or data modem (power them off & on). I have had my router stop working with one device while still working fine with others, a reboot fixed it.

huh, it worked ! Thanks mikey. I turned off and on again the router and now I can detect my home wifi network...strange as all other devices had no problem with the home wifi....and there are many.
Many thanks, I'm glad it was that simple !

Yes, rebooting (especially the router) is always the FIRST thing you should try when troubleshooting wifi issues. Glad you got it working.

Also, thanks for posting back to let the forum know it worked for you, otherwise no one knows (especially mikeytg) that the recommended action worked.
