Installed windows 8 dual boot with windows 7 and lost internet connection on windows 7 and 8 error is

Ethernet cable no connected or broken

Ethernet cable not connected or broken

Has any body else got this it was working at first on windows 8 then I rebooted to windows 7 to make sure I had dual boot then went back to windows 8 I had no connection
I've reinstalled drivers on windows 7 but still no connection

Have you installed your motherboard driver for LAN devices? Since what i know Windows will not install it by itself

I installed Windows 8 (build 8250) yesterday, then backed it up using Terabyte's Image for Windows. (I think) everything was fine after first install. But, after restoring the image to make sure I had a re-useable dual boot system with Windows 7, and then booting into Windows 7 _after_ booting into Windows 8, I had no connectivity. This happened twice today. Each time (and this really sounds ridiculous on the face of it) resynching my Linksys router with my cable modem fixed the problem, but only after I overwrote Windows 8, replacing it witha 2nd version of W7 which I use for testing. Really curious to know if oters have problems with Windows 7/8 dual boot system. And, hope this helps, although if it does, something weird is going on!
