Hey people of the Internet! Just recently on my Dell Laptop, I've been having a problem with opening google chrome and when I type for instance "YouTube" into the search bar it loads for a couple seconds then quits and usual says "No Data Received". I assumed from then my Internet connection was off but looked in the lower right hand corner and had full bar strength for my Internet connection and it even said Internet access but yet I wasn't able to connect to anything dealing with Internet. Thinking my router was down I checked it and well everything works in my house such as iPhones, iPods, game systems, etc. So what's going on with my laptop? Please help!!

Check processes that you don't have some nice anti-virus program already installed on your computer. I had similar problem with asus all-in-one computer. There was mcafee already installed, but didn't show it on programs. Had to kill the process and download unistall tool for it before got it working.

In fact this is exactly the type of problem that Norton is famous for causing.

Since you are showing a valid IP something is blocking the machine from connecting.

Scorpion saver was a add-on that was on google and I deleted it because I read about how they were malacious so once I deleted it my Internet started working and now works two times faster thanks everyone this one looks to be SOLVED let's hope it stays this way I repped all of you that had useful info....

@chev65 I didn't know that about Norton I may look into a different Anti-Virus software if this occurs again thx for the tip. I repped you too.

I'm surprised that Norton didn't flag the Scorpion as malicious but for certain something was blocking that connection because the IP was valid. Glad you figured out what the problem was.
