Win 8.1 can't find my Canon G16 WiFi camera.

I have had no problems with Win 7 computers finding my Canon G16 WiFi camera and connection it to them.
But my Win 8.1 system just can't find the camera to get it connected.

This morning I started the Windows 8.1 computer and the router was connected and working. I also found the Canon G16 had been found yesterday, but it was not shown yesterday as being found. But it still will not connect to my G16, just can't connect to it. so again Windows 8.1 is failing to work as the Win7 systems do.

Yes installed all the Canon software and used USB as the install program asked,all installed and working. I can connect via USB and move picture files to Win8.1 system, but still I can't connect the G16 using WiFi. So as before WiFi is not an option with the Win8.1 computer. As I implied before the Win8.1 system is not one I rely on a lot. Maybe someday Microsoft will get their OS to address the problem, until then I will use my Win7 computers.

This finally got my Canon PS SX600 working with wireless to Windows 8.1. This assumes you have CameraWindow installed. Turn on the camera and select wireless and get as far as you can to connect to the computer. On Windows, start Devices and Printers from Control Panel. Select Add device, double click the new wireless camera. When the popup asks "Canon...Tap to choose what happens with this device", select "Canon CameraWindow". Now when I select the computer from the camera wireless menu, CameraWindow comes up on the Windows computer and I can transfer photos and so on.
