My desktop PC has Windows 7 64 bit and my laptop has Windows 8.1 64 bit. I have two printers connected to my desktop. I am setup for a home network and my modem and router are connected to my desktop. I have my desk top set up to share file and my printers are set up to share. Everything was working fine up until the last 2 or 3 days. When I'm on my laptop I can access my files on the desktop, but now I can't print. From my laptop it will see my printers, but when I try to print I get all kinds of message. Sometimes it says that the print spooler is not running and I know it is. Other times it will ask for a user name and pass word, but I never did use a pass word. Besides when I set up file and print sharing, I disabled using a pass word. There are about 3 different messages that I get telling me that it won't print. If I just right click on the printer icon and select "connect", I still get the messages. I re installed the latest drivers for my printers, I refreshed the print spooler in services, I ran virus scans, and system scans. I reset my router by un-connecting and re-connecting. But it still will not print. The only way I can print is to send the file to my desk top and print from there. Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be going on?
