There are four computers in my homegroup, one of which is a 'phantom' computer, from before I had to reinstall Windows on my laptop. It's called TomLaptop, the current installation's computer name is called Tom-Laptop. When I try to remove the phantom TomLaptop from the group, its just stays on 'Removing...' and never finishes. How can I get rid of it?

When things go wrong with the Homegroup it's best to leave the Homegroup from all networked machines then create a new one and rejoin from all machines.

If you have problems leaving the Homegroup there is also a fix for that.
