Getting dropped out of WiFi

Here is the scenario:
I have setup a home group with 3 windows 8 laptops, a windows 7 laptop and a windows 7 desk top.
Everybody can see everybody.
My son’s windows 8 laptop has a problem. He will get dropped every minute or so. He then has to manually reconnect to the network. I have on multiple times checked the “connect automatically” box, but it will not stick. As a workaround I have enabled the guest network and he can log on just fine and stay logged on. Once he has logged on to the guest network, he then can switch to the main network and he will no longer get dumped. Of cause if he is on the guest network, he is no longer on the home group.
For now I have told him that if he needs the printer, he has to change the network to the main network.
Anyone know what is going on?
Thanks
Sven
