I am attempting to setup shares on a Windows 8 64-bit machine with restricted access. I have a Windows Live account for my machine and am currently logged in to that account. I also created a local account that I granted admin privileges to. Initially when I mapped my network drives from a Win 7 machine to the Win 8 machine I could access the shares but I couldn't write to them. Things have gone south since as I tried all kinds of tweaking to get the Win 8 to allow me to write to the shares. I click on Advanced sharing and allowed Everyone access. I can't log in as the Win 8 (Windows Live) user -- the machine keeps telling me that my password is wrong -- and I can't seem to log in as the local account either. Please help -- I'm thinking of reverting this machine back to WIndows 7 -- so far can't stand this new OS...
