Name of internet connection help

I was setting up a new router and changed the firmware a couple times but set it up with the same SSID and password. In the menu to join networks it says the regular name. When I mouse over it on the bottom right it still says "Name 3" instead of just name. I deleted all the other network profiles using netsh as well as deleting the leftover entries in the registry. Surely being 2013 there is a way to have it just say Name instead of Name 3.

Never tried this but it may help steer you in the right direction:

You can change the name of your networks in the Local Security Policy. Run "secpol.msc". Once you're in there, navigate to the "Network List Manager Policies" section, find your network in the right-hand pane, open its properties and rename it to whatever you want.
