Internet randomly disconnects

Hi all,

I am running Windows 8 on a Dell Inspiron 3520. At random moments, the internet disconnects. Sites do not load, however it says I am still connected to the network. I have to manually reconnect to my network for the internet to work again. This is quite frustrating. The other laptops I have (and have used for many years) do not have this problem, so I believe it to be a problem with either the OS or the hardware.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks,
BigW

If you can post a screen shot of the ipconfig/all from this machine it would be helpful.

You might also want to add the model number of your HP machine to your system specs. :)

Also, those specs are from my old HP laptop. Are they relevant?

Yes you should post the specs for the machine that is having the problem.

No real clues on why the wireless would randomly disconnect but these types of problem can be caused by a million different things.

Have you tried using a different DNS server? You might try removing the DNS entries from the IPv4 properties and instead type two DNS servers into the routers settings for DNS. Try using Google DNS at 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

Starting up in safe mode with network is another way to isolate the problem.
