My router gets extremely hot at times and from my understanding, this can hinder its performance. What's the best method used to keep a router cool? I was thinking about using a laptop cooler but I have a small desk and want to maximize as much space on it possible.
Any thoughts?

I own a ASUS RT-N66U. I read online that heat can affect the performance of a router. I have tried everything that I can think of to counter these buffering issues. I figured maybe trying to keep the router cool may help.
I'm at wits end so Im willing to try anything at this point.
