hi all, hope someone can help me with this,

i have broadband from virgin media with one of their superhubs made by netgear, i have a CCTV DVR plugged into this using a regular cat5 cable, the DVR will allow you to view 4 cctv cameras via the internet,

android and blackberry phones can both connect to the router using wifi, an IBM laptop running XP also has no problems, the only thing that does have a problem is a new Toshiba laptop running windows 8,

if the DVR is plugged into router before win 8 connects then the win8 machine cannot log on using wifi, it gives message saying restricted access and has no internet access, if you unplug the DVR win8 machine logs on fine you can then plug DVR back in and laptop can browse all day with no problems, if you log off then try and log on again you get the same restricted access message again

spent over an hour on phone with toshiba tech support and the best he could come up with is windows 8 is not correctly configured for my network

can anyone help with this problem

Good morning..

I know what you mean... I get it once in a blue moon as well.

Does your dvd player have internal accessible storage? Maybe your windows network discovery is trying to link to it.

Ill keep looking in the meantime.. Im off to bed now, its 5:11 am here.. Goodnight
