are there any network drivers for this desktop?

    Hello

I have succesfully installed Windows 8 Developer Preview through VMware 8. I know it is early but are there any network card drivers available for this desktop? I'm talking about a Dell Optiplex 380. It has a Broadcom Netlink built-in network card. I have searched the web for drivers, but I can't find any drivers so far.

    thanks

I've often had to use a workaround for my drivers. What I do is use my Galaxy S2 as an Internet tether and do a windows update, and that seems to download the native windows driver required (I'm on a Broadcom card as well). Try that and see if it works (also sorry if this is a bit late)!

    Dumb question probably,
Dut did you download the installer from "dell support" let it extract to C: then browse the drivers folder it creates and transfer it to thumb drive?

Because I'm staring at a mini card driver installer right now titled "Dell Wireless 1505 Draft 802.11n WLAN Mini-Card Desktops" For Optiplex 380.

And standard Broadcom network driver here

Fortunately there are both 32 and 64 bit 7 drivers available for the Plex 380 available on Dells support site. Now whether he can use them in VM ware is another thing.

I haven't mussed with VM ware for awhile as it really bogged down the early C2D system I use. So I'm far from an expert, but having the installer and driver might help him on his way.

Loool this sounds VERY stupid but I have made a mistake configuring VMware, I had to replace the virtual CD/DVD ROM with a virtual network card. I now have internet on my virtual Windows 8.

However thanks for all your help!
