Hello, I am currently having serious issues connecting my windows 8 desktop to wireless internet. It runs fine when hardwired in and I have tried to reinstall drivers I have run programs ensuring me they are all up to date. The computer is a HP Pavilion m8430f. The router is a Verizon router and I believe the company that makes it is actiontec m142wr. Any information on how to try and solve this would be very helpful. Thank you.

Try shutting down your computer, then power down your modem/router wait 30 seconds and turn it back on.

wait about 5 minutes and turn on your computer let it do its magic then see what the connectivity looks like..

It turns out that they had changed the password to the router and my issue was simply having the wrong password... hence the limited connectivity Not sure why it said it was connected if it never had the correct password but now I have another issue lol
