Can't LAN, problem with sharing

Hi guys

A few days ago I was busy Lanning with my friends and everything worked great until recently. I tried to LAN with my friend and his Laptop(win 7), but it didn't work.

It shows up on the right side bar as an unidentfied network which is limited. I can't right-click it to allow file sharing so I don't know what's wrong. In the network category I can see myself and see my friend only as a media device.

Both our IP's are set to obtain automatically. Worth mentioning is that 2 days ago I also tried to Lan, but before just when I plugged in the ethernet cable it asked whether I want to enable network sharing etc. Stupidily I ignored it and it went away. My Pc is on workgroup and not domain so that's not the problem.

I'd appreciate any help. Thanks

Try left-clicking on your network symbol, a charms menu will pop up. Now right-click on your network connection on the top right and select enable/disable network share. Now choose Yes, select network sharing (for private networks).
Now open first your network center by right-clicking on your network-symbol and selecting it. Now go to advanced sharing settings on the top left. There, enable network detection and automatic device setup, also activate the file- and printer-sharing, and activate your home network.
Maybe that helps.

Already tried that, I can't left click the network connection at all.

Thanks anyway
