Remote Access - Win 8 PC to Win 7 PC

Hello,

I have 2 systems, 1 running Win7 (HP i5, quad-core, 8GB 2.5Ghz) and the other is running Win 8 (Acer AX series, AMD processor, quad-core, 8GB, 2.2Ghz) acting as my HTPC. How can I remotely access my Win 8 system (in living room) through my Win 7 PC in my computer room?

I've also read somewhere that using WOL feature on Win 8 is a pain. Is that true? How can I get through this issue?

thanks topgun for the link. Apparently, remote desktop for windows is only available for multiple corporate licenses and pro license. Which makes sense. The remote desktop feature is not included in home edition or single user license.
My only option is the team viewer which works fine.

Yeah, I am using Team viewer. What I was trying to say is I followed the tutorial for windows built-in remote desktop feature and I don't have a "remote desktop" option and I can't continue on with the tutorial. So I just downloaded team viewer. Thanks again.

I guess because you have a standard version of Windows 8. Some of the features are missing in Windows 8 Standard. However, Teamviewer would serve the same thing, just set up an automatic login with a password then you can access any time.
