Hello
Please see my attachment and let me know if this is the way it should appear if I have a desktop and a laptop, hopefully on the same private network. In Win 7 the name only appeared once.
If it is wrong could you please tell e how to correct it?
Thank you

If you are just using the same connection for the two of them then only ONE network connection should show up.

fix network names

Win 8 Pro - My desktop is connected to the router and the laptop is wireless. Right clicking the top name gives the option to share or not but nothing else.
When I right click the name under wireless and click view connection properties, it shows my WPA - 2 with my key.
I read where Win 8 is quite different than Win 7 regarding this feature.
Would you be good enough to advise me as to how to adjust this properly, if necessary?
Thank you
Peter
