I also have the same problem. Windows claims it cannot connect automatically and MUST have a security key typed into the box. Even though we have WPS enabled and half a dozen other devices connect perfectly via WPS. The exact message Windows 8 gives is "Windows can't get settings automatically. Enter the security key instead."
Anyone know why Windows 8 is so stubborn and painful to adopt? Seems Windows 8 was specifically designed to turn people off on ever using Windows again. I've been a hard core windows user since windows 3.11, and now for the first time ever, well not counting millenium, I am regretting the purchase. I just want the stupid thing to connect to the new Modem, like Windows 7 did so easily. Thanks
I was struggling with my networking settings in my new windows 8 laptop for the past 2 days. I just figured out i need to enable WPS in my router admin backend to make my connection working. Otherwise, it would show limited connectivity. I don't see this problem in my windows 7 laptop. Anyone has any idea why?
