Is your WiFi turned on ? Are you seeing available networks to join ? What happens when you try joining ? Does it let you? Did it work previously? Did you install any new updates or changed settings recently ? You need to elaborate a bit more on the problem in order to get the right help.

Yes wifi is turned on , I know it is something with my drivers , I can not see any available networks. I can't connect to the Internet at all and I believe I have to install a new wireless driver but I am not quite sure how to do this with connecting to the Internet on it

If you know its a driver you have to install in order to fix the problem I suggest you try to hard wire your Internet connection to see if that works to update the drivers in order for the WiFi to work.

Double check your Device Manager to see if everything is functioning properly if there are any errors.

Check this out:

Aspire V3-551 Drivers

I'm assuming your missing the Wireless Lan Driver - try downloading the latest version and do the update.

Also check Device Manager to see what's going on as well.

Could not connect through hard wire , ....
Did you try connecting with Ethernet directly through a modem? Can any other computer get to the internet wirelessly or via wire given your setup?

I suggest doing what znod said. Connect your computer to the modem via ethernet then download the latest updates, and it would probably download the correct wireless drivers.

I had a similar issue when I turned on my laptop today. My wireless adapter had been working fine up until then. This morning, my list of available wifi networks was empty and it just said no networks available. I tried the obvious things like recycling the adapter, running the troubleshooter, and reinstalling the drivers and none of these helped. The only thing that had changed overnight is that I had installed the latest set of windows updates. To check if one of these had corrupted my system, I did a system restore back to the latest restore point (done at around 5pm yesterday). That fixed my problem and I can now see all my networks again. I cannot tell you which specific windows update corrupted my system but its something else you might consider if your system was previously working fine like mine was.
