Network problem!

Hello! I installed OS 8 and my network doesn't work!The "Local Area Network" doesn't appear!I did a new connection(every time when I reinstall the OS I must do a new connection,a PPOE connection),no result.What I can do?

To make things easier maybe, go to the Desktop, right click on it, choose personalize, and select the Desktop icons you would like to show, including Network and Control Panel. Then, check things out in Control Panel > Network and Sharing. Be sure your network is shown as Private. Run the troubleshooter. See what things look like when you go to the Change advanced sharing settings link in Network and Sharing. If I am a little vague, then please forgive as I am on a Mac far away from my Windows machine. To facilitate things, show your network icon in the taskbar notification area.

Now I have installed OS 7,so please more replies,I don't want to change windows every 30 mins..I will search some help.Thank you for reply,I will try.You can tell me how I can see a private network,or change his mode?Please help me...

The instructions I gave above will work in Win7 or Win8. You are looking for a screen like the following. I downloaded this from the web. As said, I am on a Mac right now. Since you are in Win7 now, you should be on your Desktop. Try to accomplish what I said in my first post.

If I download my network board driver(I have a "Broadcom Netlink Gigabit Ethernet" board),The Local Area Network will apear and my network will work?

Have you checked in device manager under either Win7 or Win8 to see if it shows a problem with your driver. Are you interested in connecting only via Ethernet?

Yes,only Ethernet.
Edit:I tried some drivers,no result.

Try running the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant to see if you have incompatibilities.

This is what I found!Look,the network board is compatible,what's the problem?So,some time ago,when I bought my desktop pc,I installed windows 7,after I wanted windows XP,but I had the same problem with network,the Local Area Network doesn't appear and my network doesn't work.Now I have windows 7,and I want windows 8,but I have the same problem.What's the problem?Can I resolve this problem?

Are you trying to connect through a router? If yes, you could try connecting directly through your modem to see if anything is different. You could try uninstalling your antivirus software if you have either Norton or McAfee. For Norton, go to the Semantec website and use the provided installer.
